Coming Events where I'll be Showing Art!

I’ve just taken on a second year as founding President of Rancho Cordova Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit public benefit charity. The first year was challenging in so many ways, but as I look back, it has all worked out beautifully. That’s my excuse for not making much art this year! But to get out of this rut and back to making lots of art, I’ve signed up for a couple of events, because I do love a good deadline!

July 4, 2019 - I’ll be up in the Sierra foothills, in Volcano, California for the Grand Opening of Wellman Art Gallery, owned by two outstanding artists and friends, Sid and Donine Wellman. They’ve generously invited me to join them for a big day of selling art. I’ll be on their front porch with my art cards from 10am to 5pm, and they’ll be inside with their creative wonders. Seeing the Wellmans’ art makes me happy. (I’m told that Volcano has some good places to eat, too.)

Wellman Art Gallery sits on the corner where Main Street turns the corner and becomes Consolation. It’s in an historic structure, the Old Sing Kee Store at 21335 Consolation Street, Volcano, California, just an hour from Sacramento off Highway 49, south of Placerville.

September 21 & 22, 2019 - It’s Open Studios in Rancho Cordova! Come by the MACC (Mills Station Arts & Culture Center) at 10191 Mills Station Road (located at the Mather/Mills Light Rail Station in Rancho Cordova). Six or seven of us Rancho Cordova artists will be there, showing and demonstrating our creative works all day in a fun party atmosphere.

I’ll be demonstrating something geeky at 3pm both days - how to make your own watercolor color charts, where two pigments are mixed in every combination and degrees of dark to pale. I have a binder full of these charts, and its amazing how helpful they are! Sometimes you really ‘can’t get there from here’ with two colors…but sometimes you can!
